The organization does not discriminate among those in need. The services have been provided by the organization for the past 130years in the USA. The Sons of AMVETS, Department of New York :
It was formed in 1995 which is a branch of AMVETS. AMVETS is America’s prominent veterans service organization. Over 250,000 members are a part of this organization. It has an open membership system for those who have been serving currently  or have served in the past. The Sons of AMVETS has three squadrons: Squad 4 in Massena, Squad 19 in Ogdensburg and Squad 18 in East Islip. Its membership is limited to male relatives of the members of AMVETS and are at least 18 years of age. No in-laws are permitted.

3. New York City Rescue Mission : It provides hope and help to those in need. The help has been extended to poor, hungry, homeless and ailing men and women of New York City. Hope, love , excellence and community are the foundation, spirit, character and attitude of the organization, respectively. Not only the physical needs are catered to by the organization but also the emotional and spiritual issues are addressed. It helps people to reconnect to the world from which they have become disconnected due to their poverty or sufferings. 4. New York State Council Vietnam Veterans of America : Vietnam Veterans of America was founded in 1978 and is the only national Vietnam veterans organization which is solely dedicated to the veterans and their families of Vietnam-era. It supports a complete range of issues which are faced by the Vietnam veterans. There are over 70,000 members , 48 state councils and 650 local chapters. 5. Society of St. Vincent de Paul : It is the only organization that includes “home visits” in its service model in the Long Island. It was formed in  1833. Initially it was founded to help poverty-struck people  residing in slums of France and Paris. The first conference in USA was held in 1845. The society  believes that visiting people in need, in their homes, creates a secure environment in which they can share their struggle stories.
